ResponderEliminar¿What will happen with our future?. Each year, month, week and day this question can change because of our actions that are damaging the environment. Many species are on the verge of extinction but the case most shocking is the hunt of sharks.
ResponderEliminarThis species is more vulnerable to overexploitation than other commercially exploited fishes and this problem may cause the extinction of sharks because several species of sharks don't can reproduce until they are older than ten years old, and some only have a few young every other year or in some cases, every three years.
I agree with what said Rob Stewart «the sharks are perfect» because they have incredible things for example: their speed, their body and the ability to hide but not only this animal needs to our help, but also all our planet.
Remember some ways for help the planet:
Plastic bags, bottles or other objects must be reduced,reused and recycled.
Chemicals should be avoided by farmers or industries.
Therefore, as said the journalist Pilar Cisnero «here in Costa Rica we have vision but not action» for this reason, we need to do awareness and start denouncing when we see some suspicious action. Remember that illegal fishing of sharks is being produced by ourselves and this must stop now.

EliminarWith that idea the animals have been murdered by people that they are just thinking about their good. That is not a problem just the sharks. Cats, turtles, dogs and another animals are being murdered by human race and one day we will not have anything and in that moment we will understand that we cannot eat bills and coins.
We have to organize and go to the rivers, oceans and lakes to do something about the problem because sometimes the garbage in those places killed the animals in different forms.
Costa Rica is doing effort for helping the animals and we are the responsible of that. The government must create laws about the abuse of animals.

The shark is an animal big and beautiful but if the people continuous that mean slaghter they could be one species that can not see the people in the future. They are in danger they has been killing by the unconscious people that can end the specie.
They can´t talk but we yes we should seek solution that but the autorities and governmet could do the best job due to they have more power in that case.
I think that the problem is into our self, into our mind. Like sharks , fish , whales, dolphins and other we must take care , because the planet is being affected by ourselves. I agree with report any action that affects us . EliminarI think that kill sharks for a soup is absurd because for example,the fisherman "kill fish" but this use all the fish, and him has a fish farming and for me this don't cause a bad impact in the nature...but with the sharks is other history totally different because they don´t use all the shark...for me is a cruelty and it's no necessary, we need laws what protect the animals now!

ResponderEliminarIt´s amazing how these kind of videos can change our view in so much aspects, as Robert Stewart was saying, we grow up thinking that sharks are the most terrifying animals in the world, and we don´t even think that we cannot live without them and how beautiful they are. Their functions in the ocean are fundamentals for the ocean nature, they hold the underwater world and balance, eliminating species and creating new ones. Sharks are more known as the enemies of humans, but most of us don´t know anything of what they do and fishers only think that they are useful to cut their fins and they don´t realize how much damage they are causing to the ecosystem and it could probably cause the extinction of sharks.
ResponderEliminarWe are afraid of them and we don´t think why they attack us, they don´t know what are we and they feel threatened by us. They don´t even eat humans, they attack because of blood loss. They are beautiful and they are part of our mother earth and we must take care about them, people think that just because we are afraid of them we can kill them and take advantage of them, we must think that all the ecosystem is shaped of everything that is in it.
We need to stop this now, this illegal fishing is killing our nature, it snatches us the right of living in a complete world, with all the pieces that we need for living. The people have no idea that the sharks are very important and have a role in ours lives and the ecosystem. However, they think that the sharks are dangerous and kills a lot of people every minute in the world.They want to finish with that problem without knowing what will can happen if we do not have sharks in the planet.
ResponderEliminarFirst, the people need to know how the sharks can help us and we too to them. For example: Sharks play an important role in the ocean ecosystem maintaining ecological balance, putting it at the top of the marine food chain. Thanks to their habits act as scavengers helping eliminate water dead animals, thereby preventing the spread of disease and strengthening the genetic composition of the populations of prey.
Otherwise, if the number of sharks is seriously reduced, commercial fishing could be threatened, and that's one of the things that people have not the slightest idea of what can happen.
So, if we are intelligent people we can change, solve the problem and help the sharks of differents ways like: Learn about shark species threatened with extinction, explore ways in which sharks help to ensure the health of the marine ecosystem, unite an organization dedicated to protecting sharks, do not buy shark products, etc.
Finally, I think that this video shows us the reality of what we are doing with the sharks and we do not want to realize of that. So, that question that we need to ask themselves is "What do we want for our future?", and I think that this quote is perfect for this situation and it says:

I agree with you Alina, we ourselves have caused this bad image of sharks because we never respect their habitat and increasingly are doing more activities in the sea, for example: surfing, fishing, diving and others more.

It means, for me, that every action what we do affect our environment and the life of other people and nature, even If we don´t wanted. As the apex predators of the oceans, the role of sharks is to keep other marine life in healthy balance and to regulate the oceans.
This is a very interesting documentary, this shows us how the human race is the most danger threat in the world. It's incredible the inefficient laws that in some way approve this behavior and it's a shame to realize that in Costa Rica there are people still doing this without being punished.
ResponderEliminarI can't even imagine the pointless reason they do that..the human needs to stop and think about the consequence this could bring in a future, every single animal has a sense of being in this world. Some people are afraid of the sharks but in most of the shark attacks they are just defending his territory and they are a beautiful sea animals but in a future we could lose them if we don't create awareness of it.
Just imagine losing a part of your body the legs or the arms it would be terrible, now imagine the sharks mutilated from their fins trying to swim, i just feel helpless and i hope this problem will end or at least decrease, as Stewart discovered the sharks are not being the predators anymore they are becoming the prey. We need to stop now these activities if we don't who knows what the bad things the future will bring because of our actions, we still on time

EliminarI agree entirely with you Rodrigo, here in Costa Rica we have many ineffective laws do not help save our wildlife. But equally we should not expect anyone to take the initiative to do something to solve this if each of us can act.

The animals suffer and feeling as much as us, the only diferent it´s that they don't talk.

Our future will be ashamed of us for have destroyed everything we had in the world. We just need work for a littler of social awareness, a littler of information and education. I do not need be a genius for know that if we eat Chinese as a cultural tradition, international corporations, the international court of Justice or the United Nations Organization and a lot kind of organization like these, will come on us and will blame us for inhumans; so, I can’t understand how can be let to kill animal in endangered, of kind that their doing now.

EliminarI think you see that there is a lot of money from through in this illicit business and that therefore the authorities do not run a solution has this problem, since as I see in the documentary are put all the excuses and obstacles to international organizations that protect the life of flora and fauna can´t collaborated in their protection. Im agree with Mr.Arthur. Goverment is not seem to protect the sharks and create more and stronger lawyers to protect the sea fauna. Goverment had forgoten we also are animals.I like to eat bananas as the chip monkeys so we comes from the animals in this case the monkeys, been agree with Darwin theory. So in the nature animals hunting other species to feed, we made the same so the humans are the worst predator in the Earth because we have been destroying the flora and fauna without control.Many people are living in the ignorance. EliminarIt's a good video!!In Costa Rican waters lifes mostly wold species off the sharks.They are amazing, they are the biggest fish in the world.Sharks have been around for 400 millions years.There are 375 species.They are intelligent and not every species are agressive. 100 millions off them have being killed for their fins, they are abit in the black market.
ResponderEliminarShark populations worldwide have being hited hard largely due to demand in Asia for shark fin soup, considered by many as a delicacy, althouh a movement to stop shark fin soup comsumption has being defended by the goverment institution, nothing the fins werw collected from whole sharks. Costa Rica forbids the landing off shark fins, unless they're attached to an entire sharks body.The goverments statement acknowledged that this was the second time permit had been granted for the export of sharks fins since Dec.22,2014.
New regulations had been decried by environmental groups, governing the size of sharks and rays fished in Costa Rican waters.However by an exceptions to the controls designed to mantain shark populations as extraction are continuing.
It´s truly amazing what people can do with videos like this.

It was really amazing, for me, to watch this one, because I couldn´t expected that the people kill sharks just because they think it´s a dangerous animal, how wrong can be the people.
The sharks are one of the most beautiful creations of the world, not one of my favorites, but they are amazing, the role of the sharks in their ecosystem is important. Being predators, they help keep the population in check.
When one man said *the shark is really an animal* It´s makes think, like:
It is an animal, but they don´t kill just because they wanted, they don´t think as a human being, but the man just do it because they think is just for fun, they don´t realize the damaged they do, and they will do it for sure.
The only way to find the true about sharks is to find it by ourselves.
They had been here for a long time!!! So we are the intruders on this planet, and we are human beings how thinks before act... because if we don´t think, it means that we are just animals, worse than we think.
*remember as a human being you´re smarter than a shark...if you just used your mind before you act.

EliminarI have to say that shame the laws here in Costa Rica, a country that claims to be so green does not have laws against this type of killing and serious damage to our environment and much less strict control depart from the relevant authorities. Imagine such negative effect that gives a documentary like this to our country at the international level. I be distressed that animal as amazing as they are the sharks killed so indiscriminately without measuring the damage caused to the marine ecosystem around the world.
ResponderEliminarWe have to see that everything in an ecosystem is related from the creature more small to the bigger. We have to start changing fishing systems that shape and at the pace we are going not only sharks will be extinct but as well as thousands of species that live in our oceans and to reform the fisheries laws has worldwide until the damage that we cause is irreparable. We have an obligation to protect our fauna and flora, since in the future many or all could disappear affecting our ecosystem and environment.
This documentary makes a call has become aware about the damage that we do to the marine ecosystem, we don't remember the damage has these also affects us have ourselves. Ocean and fauna has been protected by ecologists and they make the impossible for this species. To achieve these changes, we must make studies of sharks, turtles and other species of our oceans. Only understanding them and seeing the benefits of these friendly is vera greater commitment and change of mentality on the part of human beings towards the protection and conservation of the flora and fauna.

We need someone that it applies of correct form the marine laws on Costa Rica, but they needs too our help for make the change and to be able to realize it.

First, Sharks are so shy and harmless. Certainly, the mass media have accustomed us to think that sharks are our enemies, but why?
ResponderEliminarProbably because of lack of knowledge that we have to them, we really don´t know this species to try to eliminate it. It is not a danger for us, for example only about five people have been killed by sharks each year because of blood loss, they want to explore us, is their environment and it is not their fault. Stewart talks about the survivability of sharks and their hard work to keep the balance in the ecosystem, which now begins to fail, due to cruel truth about sharks endangered. We are free to live in this planet and also sharks, they are so important for a biological chain, we depend of them as much as they depend of us. Most of the sharks have been died through massive hunt.
Finally, we have to do something to save this species, we run out of time and more and more sharks die. Sharks can not die for us, what we can do? we must denounce illegal fishing in our country, sharks has been died by lack of laws to protect them, there is a huge danger for the ecosystem, we can not stay with cross hands, we need to act.

ResponderEliminarYears and years pass and we are the same. The stupid human race is always destroying the just planet that we have.
Who was first? The animal or the human? So if you are believer the animal was first and if you are not believer the science say that we come from the monkey. So, whatever way that you choose is the same. Animals are before us. Maybe we are just their invited.
We are "homo sapiens sapiens". So, we can think, we can do something for the animals, not just sharks. It was a problem with whole the animals and the environment. The animals, the environment and our planet are killed for us. We have to do something, we can't wait for the government. Sharks, dogs, cats and another animals are been murdered for stupid people and they are waiting for our help.
While I was writing this comment near to 10.000 sharks have been murdered. We have only one planet, one life, one opportunity.
I think we have to create laws about the conservation and reproduction about the sharks and the differents sea species. Everything start with the education in the school and the high school.
Another option is some big companies like coca cola, Dos pinos and another ones go to pick up bottles, boxes and all type of garbage on the oceans, rivers and lakes.

As ocean predators , sharks play an important role in the balance of the marine ecosystem, we are being killed the sharks for their fins, because in Asia if you eat shark fin soup that means you have a lot of money, one shark fin soup cost arrond $200. We´ve to stop this illegal practice.
In Costa Rica the ocean has been contaminated, further Costa Rica is an important country to do shark finning, this is shameful. We do not have laws to combat this illegal practice,
Our planet is 70% water, that means we need the ocean, we have to taking care. But miserably 20 species of sharks are listed as endangered by the World Conservation Union, and what can we do for prevent their extinction? First we´ve to know the friendly fishing, and then demand if you know abot some who do shark finning.
Hopefully in Costa Rica create laws to combat this illegal practice, and begin to take care our ocean, sharks and fish. We can safe the world if action is taken right now.

Meli I am agree with you the shark are very important for to keep the ecosystem. The humans don´t understand what is the problem only are thinking in your wishes. The shark has been murdered by the humans. While the autorities are thinking, the sharks are dieding. The country don´t have responsablies methods for to fish.

I didn't know that sharks wasn't aggressives...they are animals and they only defend themselves but the people have the idea what all is for produce things regardless of the "cost" that this entails. A shark soup is being caused a lot of sharks deaths and here many people aren't aware about this.
I really admire to Mr. Steward for be brave and want to say to the world the problem that is happens in this moment and I think that the world needs more people like Rob...and we need more videos like this for to create awareness about real problems in the world..."If you want see differents things,you should do differents things"...
Hi Jazmin, I Agree with you 100%, we think that some animals are dangerous for us, but actually, we are dangerous for them, we are worse than them, it´s pretty sad, since we are exploiting natural resources, thinking they are forever and certainly, they aren't. I can´t believe that the government of Costa Rica still doesn't do anything, no laws, nothing.

The sharks are being dead by us, and anybody doing nothing for help it, and when somebody try to help the goverment chasing them and it´s unfair.

We are blind for some reason (that everybody knows is being illegal), the government has hidden us how they treat them in our country, thankfully exist people that are so worry about it and they've made some documentals were it show us how unfurtunaly in CR are some kind of people are being made money killing our sharks, our biggest predator on the food chain, and if we end up with 100% of shark an imbalance would be generated and overpopulation, and the extinction of many species ... A selection natural of Darwin is given by sharks, so we will be affected too, people needs to create conscience and begin to care of it.
I know there is not a big number of people that think like me but a low must be created by government, bad treatments of sharks has benn stopped here in CR... I really thing that we are not in danger... WE ARE THE DANGER.

I remenber when i was in the school and i participated in a campaing of sharks, now no one worry for projects like this.

The people in this country and other countrys needs to make conscience about shark Finning. It's something who damage our ecosystem.
